Reality Check...

Me
It would seem to make sense to get pensive and reflect on how things have gone in the last month or so has gone since my full-time social gender transition.... which sort of just happened one night when some friends convinced me that I wouldn't have any issues with the TSA, when flying last month with a drivers license that didn't do a good job of matching my gender presentation.

It's been pretty much a non-issue. Things have been entirely positive at work. Folks have treated me with respect and appropriate language. Icing on the cake: all the single stall restrooms in the building I work in recently had their signage changed over to gender-free.

The month has been very busy, with frequent rehearsals for an upcoming musical production, flying to tech workshops (in Florida... can't complain!), touring other schools' music facilities, and Winter Term faculty stuff. Fortunately, [info]tenacious_snail and I had a wonderful bit of time in Chicago/Indy packed in there too.

Spring classes start next week. Am I worried about my first batch of students, post-transition? Not any more than I normally am... I'll be less worried when my syllabus is done. ;)

So, as far as the reality check goes... life has been rather boring. There are no fireworks or brass bands playing...

But the dissonance is gone.

And that is good
